Debunking third-world myths with the best stats you’ve ever seen

Posted by shefaligaur on February 22, 2008

This is the best presentation I have ever seen on data and statistics - the subject sounds so boring to me; but Hans Rosling has proved that any subject can be made inteersting for anyone if presented in the right way.

Hans Rosling is a data visionary for global health and he has created an amazing trend revealing software for explaining social and economic development of countries with lively animations in a way that any one can understand and absorb complex global trends of decades without any difficulty.

In this presentation he has demystified some very common myths about third world countries and shown very precisely how these countries are moving on the same trajectory toward health and prosperity, and many countries are moving twice as fast as the west did.

You might have not even thought of all the parameters that he has considered to prove his point. I found the presentation very interesting and I am sure so will you.
